Helping schools strengthen
Well-being
Education should do more than help young people achieve academically. It should help them develop the confidence, resilience, curiosity, relationships and sense of purpose they need to thrive — both at school and beyond it.
I work with schools to bring evidence-informed ideas from positive education, cognitive science and social science into everyday teaching and learning. The aim is not to add another programme for teachers to deliver, but to make well-being part of the way a school teaches, communicates and works together.
How we teach matters as much as what we teach. The language we use, the experiences we create and the relationships we build can shape how young people see themselves, how they engage with learning and what they carry with them into the future.
From learning to lasting impact
When well-being is woven into everyday school life, students don't simply learn about resilience, confidence, autonomy or positive relationships. They have opportunities to experience and develop them.
I help schools become places where students and staff can fully develop their potential, grow and thrive. Places where people feel good, experience enjoyment and fulfilment, and are able to do their best.

Integrating meaningful experiences and positive relationships into everyday learning
Alongside academic success, young people need the confidence and capacity to navigate an increasingly complex and unpredictable world.
Schools play an important role in developing these capabilities.
Students thrive when they are actively involved in their learning - exploring, creating, collaborating, making decisions, overcoming challenges and reflecting on their experiences.
By bringing these principles into everyday teaching and learning, schools can create an environment in which students not only learn about well-being, but experience it through school life itself.
"You created some amazing opportunities for us, getting us out of the classroom, giving us a chance to challenge ourselves in a number of ways. I sometimes tend to think back and reflect on the teachers who made a difference in my life. Some of those teachers pushed me to do better and some of them were powerful enough to make me believe I could do anything. - you were one of these teachers!"

I work with schools to develop approaches that fit their context, values and aspirations - helping create a culture where staff and student well-being is something everyday school life actively contributes to.
If your school is looking to strengthen staff and student well-being, embed positive education into daily practice or develop a more coherent whole-school approach, I can help you turn these ambitions into practical approaches that fit your school.
